Brent Scouts Attend Remembrance Day Parade 2022

On Sunday, 13th November 2022, Brent District Scouts joined the annual Remembrance Sunday Parade at Barham Park in Wembley. The event, which honours those who have lost their lives in service to their country, was attended by scouts of all ages, along with community members and veterans.

Scouts from all sections, Beaver, Cub, Scout, Explorer and Network, and adult leaders, participated in the parade, including a march through Barham Park and a service at the War Memorial, where the Scouts carried wreaths to lay at the War Memorial.

The Remembrance Sunday Parade is an annual event that is always well-attended, and this year was no exception. The Scouts were joined by local community members, veterans, and representatives of other youth organisations. The parade was an opportunity for Brent District Scouts to come together and reflect on the sacrifices made by those who have served and continue to serve our country.

"I was proud to see our scouts participating in this important event," said Henry, the Group Scout Leader of 2nd Kingsbury. "As a new Group this was the first Remembrance Day Parade that my we has attended, and it was a powerful experience for all of us to come together and pay our respects to those who have sacrificed so much for our country."

The District Commissioner, David Kitchen, added: "It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout from Brent District Scouts at the Remembrance Day Parade. We hope that everyone who attended appreciated the opportunity to come together and remember those who have given their lives in service to our country."

The Remembrance Sunday parade is an important event in the Scouting calendar. It is a privilege for Brent District Scouts to participate in this remembrance act. The Scouts will continue to support and participate in this event in the future, to honour the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and civilians in times of war.
