Training
Our adult training is designed to ensure that every one that is volunteering with us has the skills to do their role effectively and helps with the delivery of high quality, safe, sound and exciting Scouting to young people across Brent Scout District.
Quick Links
Scouting is dedicated to the development of young people. Each week over 100 adults volunteer, in a variety of roles across Brent, helping to achieve this aim. While our primary purpose is the development of young people, we also seek to offer personal development opportunities to adults, both within their Scouting role and as individuals. Our adult learning scheme is one means by which you can be supported in your chosen role and help you to meet your personal development needs. We also have learning advisors on hand to support you through your learning journey.
The learning you are required to complete varies on your volunteering role and much of it is optional - we do require some basic health and safety and safeguarding learning to be completed by everyone though, to ensure that all volunteers are able to feel comfortable helping within Scouting.
More information on the learning available can be found here.

Nights Away Permits
Nights Away or residential events, such as camping or sleepovers, are a key part of Scouts. They’re something that every young person should have the opportunity to take part in. They offer brilliant opportunities to earn different badges and learn new skills for life!
The Nights Away Permit Scheme is an internal assessment scheme designed to ensure that all those leading night away events for young people within Scouts have the skills, experience, and personal suitability to do so.
Brent Scouts will facilitate earning your Nights Away Permit, but we encourage you to apply for an indoor permit first. You can use our Nights Away Guidance Course resources to help you earn it via the link below.
If you have any questions about the Nights Away Permit Scheme then please speak to our Nights Away Advisor (Tom Hughes) - tom.hughes@brentscouts.org.uk
You can also apply for an assessment and renew your permit below:
First Response (First Aid)
