7th Wembley Scout Group Holds Investiture Ceremony

On Friday evening, members of the 7th Wembley Scout Group gathered to celebrate a special occasion – the investiture of all its members. The ceremony, led by District Commissioner David Kitchen, marked the induction of 4 adult leaders and 15 young Cub Scouts into the Scouting community.

The 7th Wembley Scout Group is the newest addition to Brent District Scouts, having opened its doors to members in June 2022. Since then, the group has grown rapidly and has a thriving community of young people and adult volunteers.

The investiture ceremony, held at the group's headquarters in Preston Park, began with the adult leaders being invested by David. Each leader pledged to uphold the Scout Promise and Law and support the group in providing a high-quality program for its youth members.

The Scout Promise

On my honour,
I promise that I will do my best
to uphold our Scout values,
to do my duty to The King,
to help other people
and to keep the Scout Law.

After being invested himself, Sagar Patel, Group Scout Leader, went on to invest the 15 new Cub Scouts. The young members made the Cub Scout Promise and were officially welcomed into the Scouting community.

"The investiture ceremony is always a special moment, and it was particularly meaningful to be able to invest the members of our newest group," said David Kitchen. "The 7th Wembley Scout Group is already making a positive impact in the community, and we are excited to see what the future holds for them."

Sagar Patel, Group Scout Leader of 7th Wembley, commented, "It was a proud moment for the whole team and me to see the young members taking their promise and becoming part of the scouting family. We are excited to see them grow and develop through the scouting programs."

The ceremony was attended by parents, friends, and members of the community, who came to show their support for the new members of the 7th Wembley Scout Group. The Brent District Scouts are looking forward to continuing to support and serve the community through the programs and activities of the 7th Wembley Scout Group.
